Barry Simon is new member of NBIA's Scientific Advisory Board

Barry Simon, IBM Professor of Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at Caltech joins the NBIA Scientific Advisory Board. Barry Simon's distinguished career covers a remarkably broad range of topics from theoretical physics to pure mathematics, with profound contributions to, among many other subjects, spectral theory, functional analysis, statistical mechanics and quantum field theory. Barry Simon is a legendary figure in mathematical physics. In 1981 he moved from a professorship at Princeton University to Caltech, where he has strongly helped shape the mathematics department. Barry Simon has received numerous scientific honors, including the Henri Poincare Prize, the Bolyai Prize, and the Steele Prize.
