Info for Newcomers
International Staff Mobility (ISM) is part of the Human Resources Department at the University of Copenhagen and supports International Researchers, PhD Students and Administrative Staff of the University of Copenhagen.
The University of Copenhagen Housing Foundation (UCPH Housing Foundation) is an independent foundation which assists international students and researchers coming to University of Copenhagen in finding accommodation while in Copenhagen.
You can also look for housing on housing portals such as BoligPortal, LejeBolig, KBH-Bolig, Findroomate.dk and many more. The housing situation in Copenhagen can be difficult - particularly in August and September, so please start your search early, and don't get scam'ed!
On some Fridays we host a NBIA Colloquium, where an invited guest will give a talk at "Colloquium level". Usually, the colloquium is held one or two times a month and begins at 14.15 and will be followed by refreshments in the NBIA Lounge. Participation in these NBIA Colloquia is mandatory for all members of the NBIA.
About once a month, we have a little excursion in order to experience Copenhagen and see what it has to offer - and to get to know eachother better. So far we have been to Tivoli, The Zoo, curling, paintball, and other really cool excursions. There will be a sign-up sheet and information in the NBIA Lounge. You are welcome to suggest excursions to me.
The Fridays where we don’t have a Colloquium, we instead normally have N-talks with more or less local speakers. The N-talks will begin at 15.30 and will too be followed by refreshments in the NBIA Lounge. Participation in N-Talks is also mandatory for all members of the NBIA.
Because we so much love to be social, every second Friday of every month, we go out and have dinner together. We usually meet in the NBIA Lounge at 17.00 and enjoy some refreshments. Hereafter we head out, often to a nearby restaurant.
