Title: Harmonic Cross-Correlation techniques For Astroparticle Physics
Abstract: After decades of searches, the sources of high energy astroparticles remain elusive. In this talk, I will discuss how to use techniques based on the harmonic space cross-correlation, ubiquitous in cosmology, to harness the information that astroparticle anisotropies can give us about their sources. I will present two separate examples. The first one is the cross-correlation analysis applied to UHECRs, as recently performed, for the first time, by the TA-PAO anisotropy working group. In this case we find tantalising, tentative evidence of a quadrupolar anisotropy at the highest energies, evidence which is more significant in the cross-correlation with selected source catalogues compared to the, well established, UHECR auto-correlation. In the second example, I will describe how to apply harmonic cross-correlation techniques to high-energy neutrinos with the 10 year, all-sky, point-source IceCube data. I will detail the benefits of a cross-correlation approach and present the first constrains on neutrino source emissivity as a function of redshift.
