George Mamatsashvili receives EU Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship

George Mamatsashvili (Humboldt Fellow at Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf) has been awarded a two-year Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship to join the Theoretical Astrophysics group at NBIA. George and collaborators have developed new tools to investigate non-linear dynamics in shear flows where the energy cascade is strongly anisotropic. In his Marie Curie project, entitled "Turbulence in Accretion Disks – New Perspectives", George will further develop these ideas in order to provide new insights into the fundamental problem of sustenance of magnetohydrodynamic turbulence and angular momentum transport in deferentially rotating disks.
