Carlsberg Foundation Young researcher Fellowship to Jason Koskinen

NBIA Associate Professor D. Jason Koskinen has received a three-year Young Researcher Fellowship from the Carlsberg Foundation with the title “NuFront: Neutrinos at the Physics Frontier”. The project involves developing new data analysis tools and machine learning algorithms to make much needed precision measurements of neutrino oscillations using the IceCube detector at the South Pole. The grant will also support critical preparation and optimization of the IceCube-Upgrade; a significant extension to the existing IceCube detector which will be deployed in 2022/23.

The grant will support 1-2 postdocs, 1 Ph.D. student, and strengthen Jason’s group as an international leader in current and future neutrino oscillations research.
