Firuza Foundation Fellowship to NBIA
Foundation NBIA has been able to dedicate a 3-year Firuza Foundation Fellowship to new theoretical developments in Quantum Sciences.
Thanks to generous support from the Firuza Foundation NBIA has been able
to dedicate a 3-year Firuza Foundation Fellowship to new theoretical
developments in Quantum Sciences. The initiative aims at capitalizing on
the new opportunities for theoretical Quantum Sciences at NBIA in the
light of both global advances in Quantum Computing and the major effort
towards building a Quantum Computer at the neighboring Novo Nordisk
Foundation Quantum Computing Program in Blegdamsvej complex of the Niels
Bohr Institute.
Recipient of the Firuza Foundation Fellowship will be Fan Yang, who is
currently post-doc at University of Innsbruck. Fan Yang received his PhD
from Tsinghua University in 2020, and stayed on there for half a year as
Research Assistant. Before his current position at University of
Innsbruck Fan Yang held post-doctoral appointments at first Aarhus
University (2020-2023) and later Niels Bohr Institute (2023-2024). His
general research areas are quantum many-body physics, quantum optics,
and quantum information.
