Niels Emil J. Bjerrum-Bohr completed his PhD in Copenhagen (2004) and has held postdoctoral positions in Swansea (2004-2006) and at the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton (2006-2009). He became a Knud Højgaard Assistant Professor in 2010, received both a Steno and a Lundbeck Foundation Junior Group Leader grant, and became a permanent faculty member at the Niels Bohr Institute in 2016. He became Professor of Theoretical Physics in 2026. He is currently section head for the Niels Bohr Institute Theoretical High-Energy, Astroparticle, and Gravitational Physics group and co-PI in the DRNF Center of Gravity. His current research focuses on perturbative expansions of gravity scattering amplitudes to study black hole binaries.
