After he obtained a Master's degree in Physics at the University of Perugia, in Italy, he started a double degree PhD program between the latter university and the University of Copenhagen. A the moment he is also a research fellow at the Galileo Galilei Institute for Theoretical Physics, in Florence. His work mainly focuses on the theoretical aspects of gravitational wave physics, with particular reference to effective one-body models for coalescing compact binaries.
